I'm guessing no warranty on the Samsung drives? What about the Intel?

Are there any major differences between the intel and samsung dc ssd to choose one brand over the other?

@grfxlab Intel has lower latency, in some cases 2x lower and better mixed work load, and very often better write performance. If the 'best' performance is your goal Intel is rocking it right now!

I know servethehome is land of the overkill but why use a flash array for plex?
Solid state is overkill for actually storing the media(unless you can afford it no problem) but where flash storage is useful is for the transcoding part as well as all the metadata that is shown to the user while browsing.

Concurrent access also changes the plex io workload from sequential to random. So if you have many clients simultaneously streaming it could become an issue on spinning disks.
