How do you test these drives ?

@nev_neo DD+BadBlocks -- read/record smart info, keep an eye on them and performance before/after tests.

@T_Minus I did try doing a smartctl -t long on a couple of drives, but they failed.
Seems like these hgst's dont do long scans ? Short scans worked fine.
Trying to do something with Windows 7 now, waiting for the damn thing to update so i can install .net 4 framework for hdsentinel.

also these drives are huge !
they're the same size as the normal 73gb 10K 2.5" sas drives. Was expecting it to be the same size as a regular ssd - like the intel dc's

I've done short and long scans... but that's really not enough.

Took the @whitey approach and DD them then Badblocks them.

You really only see power on hours, total written, total read, re-allocated sectors, 'status'... which, for me is enough @Marsh got a ton of these maybe he has some more info to share.
