Final planning stage for me plex server

Hello all,

I am in the final stages of of planning my new server. This server will manly be used for running Esxi and plex, xpenology and prob a other vm. These are the parts I think will do the job I want. But if u can think of any changes or problems yet me know

3U Server Case w/ 16x 3.5"
LSI 9240-8
Supermicro X9drl-ef-O
Intel Xeon E5-2670v1 x2
Samsung 32GB 4X8GB DDR3 1333MHz

What are you looking at for boot/datastore/media-store discs?

Note quite the same but a UP X9 SM board, my X9SRL's have been rocking 2670v1's for a few months now and I could not be more pleased w/ performance.

Not yet as I haven't moved and until that happeneds I don't have the room to put the server where I would like it

Good to hear. That's the only other motherboard on my potential 2670 build list. I read a post where someone said one of these dual 2670 systems raised their electric bill by $30/month, so I'm trying to be realistic about my needs. A 6 core Xeon D would be more than enough for what I'm doing, but the lure of 16 cores at such a low price is making me irrational.
