Interesting the 863 is cheaper than the 843? Volume available or another reason? Any ideas.

Another good deal I noticed on my drive sourcing yesterday was Newegg, Samsung refurb SM843 960GB for $199, not not the not the 843T but 843.

Cheers P

Nice! I think the PM863's are used while the SM843s are new. I would go PM863 myself (and I have a ton of the 960GB models.)

Came across exactly that PM863 listing last night while pondering buying some second hand ~500GB enterprise SSDs for my "new" R710. In the past I've normally gone for new consumer grade products (eg, Samsung 840/850 Pros), but I'm thinking of going a different route for this build.

What's the consensus on second hand enterprise SSDs? Worth taking a punt on them, particularly if they're still under warranty?

Just received 4 of these today for my new NAS build and wanted to give others some information regarding them.

First off, packaging was great! A lot of bubble wrap and each drive was in a sealed static bag. Drives themselves don't show any cosmetic damage.

I checked the disks using crystaldisk and hdsentinel (for some reason magician DC wasn't working) and came up with the following averages (based on the 4 I received).

Power On Hours: 3072 (128 days)
Reads: 22TB
Writes: 16TB

Between this and the sv843 which one is better?

The sv843 is $180 for 960gb.
I personally like higher capacity drives, however I also prefer newer drives. Less time for capacitors and other components to wear.

Resurrecting this thread with another deal.

USED - Samsung PM863 2.5" 480GB SATA OEM Ent. DC SSD

I managed to get 4 for 90 each with shipping for 10 after i requested total. He already has some feedback for them, so hopefully drives will be fine.
Thank you for doing so, very timely for me. :)

What do you mean he already had some feedback? Are you able to see the feedback? I can see that he has 100% positive feedback on eBay, but are you referring to something else?

Thanks again,
James
