yeah 1k for 8 ports makes sense to me. Excited for this.
They will be sub $1k - when I was talking with their folks street price was $950 target so I would not be surprised if it was a bit lower still.

The next hurdle will be that SFP+ is so prevalent, at least for people like us in the secondary market. So now that the switches are coming down - are NIC prices coming in step? I don't follow 10GbaseT at all so I honestly don't know.

The X550 series was a step in that direction. Also remember, there is going to be a push on integrated NICs this year.

It looks like the x540 nic's are selling for 150ish on ebay, some a bit less if they use a systems mezzanine slot(there's an IBM one for 110 at a glance)

Waiting on the pricing for the 44 ports then. Sadly, for me 10GBaseT is something i never touched. I only have 10gbps SFP+ gear like @NetWise
I thought I had this in the article but the Netgear XS748T is supposed to have a street price around $5000.
