Any more information on the 6100's?

I will double confirm.
Patrick, have you heard any more information regarding the 6100's?

BTW, I have been lurking and reading the site since before the M1015 SAS controllers became popular and only recently signed up so I could post. Thank you for putting the site together!

If we want, I am happy to facilitate a deal with one of the common recycling outfits. I bought from a few of them during the C6100 era. I could setup something similar to what we did on the initial wave of C6100's (our sales rep for that one moved on so he is no longer at the same company.) Granted, it may be a trade-off new v. used but at least we would know who the seller is and if there is an issue there is a business behind the shipments.

Can shop around on the C6100/ C6220 if folks are interested. I am strongly considering the idea of getting a C6220.
Patrick, do you still have sources for C6220 barebone? Or any other 4 node system that utilizes e5-2600 series CPUs? Was looking for a good 4 node build with reasonable price to play around.

@gotchu I bought mine here: DELL PowerEdge C6220 2U 4xNodes No CPU No Ram 12x3.5" BareBones CTO Cloud Server

We had a thread on a number of different, less expensive options but those are sold out at this point. The E5-2670 crunch has been driving up prices of LGA2011 platforms.
I actually noticed this on eBay. Price kinda high. But eventually I might just go with it. I have found this on the web: Intel Server Chassis H2216XXKR2

What's the comparison btw this and dell c6220? I saw a couple people here said stay away with intel mobo. I don't know why...

Looking at Intel ARK : Intel® Server Chassis H2216XXKR2 Specifications

What's included is just the Node Fillers. I think you'd still need to buy the compute modules seperately. Which I think would make this way more expensive.

I don't know if it's a great deal as I have not been shopping for a C6220.
Keeping in mind that there are C6220 & C6220 (series II) and each supports limited type of CPUs,
The E5-2600 V1 CPUs do not natively support virtualisation.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me can provide more specific information.

Natex has a deal on C6220 server $2K with no HDD or HDD trays:
Dell C6220 2U Server w/3 Dell 0TTH1R nodes
They also have some C6100s avail as well, FYI

See the Natex thread for discounts on some of there other stuff:
Motherboard/CPU/Memory Bundles for sale

Cheers :)

I got my 24 bay C6220 barebone sub $1000 with 4 nodes a year ago. Now they're so much more expensive.
Yea I got the C6220 with Mellanox networking for around that (12 bay).
