Suppose so, the 3.84tb model is 2100 retail, I would love to see those reduced a bit... That's what I would love to use for data.

Cheaper than the 850 EVO though which is it's closest relative from the consumer lineup.

850 EVO 2tb is now about $600-640 in Amazon so I would just go for that with warranty and all.

That's not the part number that would be used in a Gen9 system so I am not really sure what that part is and what is used for. Not that I would care to be honest and I have lots of HP servers I could use for firmware update etc.
Tempting price for bull storage... Close to where it should be considering 850 EVO is around $600 now.

One could always wait for ever for prices to drop but I also don't have a critical need to replace spinning disks with SSD, would just be a nice thing to do as I build a new system.

816929-B21 is for the gen9 systems, I wonder what that part number gets used for, Google did not find it.
Not a bad price though...
