Just bought one of these - 3 left. Ideal motherboard for a NAS. 2 SAS interfaces with 1GB of cache (great for ZLOG device), 2x 10Gbase-T, 24 DDR3 RAM slots (both ECC and non-ECC supported), Dual LGA 2011 CPU support, IPMI 2.0 with dedicated NIC.

Used Supermicro X9DR7 TF Motherboard E ATX 24x Slots DDR3 LGA2011 Socket R | eBay

An incredible price for a board with so much functionality built-in, and terrific for building a very large ZFS/NAS server.

Enjoy,
Mike

I do like that board quite a bit. It is actually in one of our SAS SSD test rigs.

Regarding your title, it is not an "EATX' board. It is "Enhanced E-ATX" or EE-ATX. Bigger, at 13.68" x 13" (34.7cm x 33cm).

If only they shipped to australia. Seller won't accept questions either so no chance of asking nicely haha.
And shipito doesn't work cos Ebay/Paypal wont let me add an additional address. -_- sucks to be australian.

I am always interested to better understand some of the high performance NAS builds. Anyone able to elaborate how they have built or configured this board for a NAS and why this specific board is a good option?

Also interested in the OS used

I don't see it listed as officially compatible, but is there any reason why this wouldn't be compatible with the cse846 1200 case (my particular one was the one from liquid8 shared as a deal here last year? I know there's like 50 revisions of it but shouldn't they all work?

It should.

Edit: Yes, it should, with one caveat. Power supply cable lengths. Regardless, that's an easy fix.

I am running this board in an 846TQ-900B. It fit fine, but didn't match all of the standoffs. Board can push I/O, I have been happy with it (20 disk zfs+iSCSI).
