Hi there, we got a Supermicro CSE-848 chassis in used condition with four Xeon E7-4850 V2. So now i try to bring the server up but without success. Also confusing the supermicro page says the boards supports just E7-4800 / E7-8800 Series v3 / v4.

Do anyone have experience with this kind of system? Tried to plug in just one DIMM, but the system doesn't fire up. The fans of the power supplies are spinning low but the status LED of the power supplys doesn't light up.

Hope anyone could help with this mobo. Maybe i made a mistake and there is a specific memory configuration neccessarry to fire this budy up.

Should be this one:

Regards

I mean, yes, the X10QBI only takes E7 v3/v4, 2011-3 (Haswell / Broadwell). You're sure your cpus are v2? E7-4850 v2 would have an SR1GP sSpec engraved on the IHS and would be 2011-1, not compatible with your board, even though physically they can fit in the sockets.

E7 v2 CPUs are supported (and E7 v3/v4). They're all 2011-1 as Intel kept the same socket on most of the E7 line (E7 v1 being the exception as it used 1567 like the previous generation).

Which version of the X10QBI-MEM1 memory risers do you have (should either be 1.x or 2.x)? These systems are picky just FYI.

Note:
  • E7-8800/4800 v2 (using MB-X10QBI-MEM1 Rev 1.01 or above)
  • E7-8800/4800 v4/v3 (using MB-X10QBI-MEM1 Rev 2.0 or above)

Thery are the MEM1 Rev. 1.01 installed.

But the confusing is the PSU LED Status lamp didn't come up on no one of the PSUs.

Also find no BMC lamp which is blinking so i could indicate the Mobo got power.
