As our human brain is trained to see what it expects and wants to see, we miss many details. These things are mostly found by people doing something slow or something else while having the piece of interest in their field of view. For instance, having a snack, tea, etc while having the item or image/still video frame in front of you. This isn't surprising even when you're hands on the equipment in question. You see what you expect to see because the overall look matches the image that your memory already contains.
