"Maybe I'd go get one--actually two." In college my roommate got an offer after graduation and all moving expenses were paid for. I asked him if he could ship my bike. When movers came to our apartment my roommate said, "hey can you place both of these bicycles in the truck?" "You have 2 bikes?" "Yeah, doesn't everybody?" @Patrick is like that in real life, gets 2 of everything. Which reminds me of something another friend told me. He knew this guy who buys 2 of everything. Back then the guy bought 2 Dodge Vipers at the same time. Maybe except houses, but I'm not sure about that anymore.

I, too, have a few pairs of switches. Hot spares, yeah, that's it.

My DX010 is manufactured in 2019 and it still has the B0 stepping.

Familiar heatsink, but surprisingly it turned out to be a Celestica OEM

Are you sure it's Celestica? Their fans on their D4040/DX010 don't look like this Dell's. Their 25G switch D3030 Questone2 has 8 QSFP28 ports, not 6.

The fan connector, heatsink and PCB are the same as Celestica. It is certain that this model is made by Celestica, but with some DELL customizations, such as the LED handle of the fan and power supply.

Is it the RPM of the fans that make them banshees? Or ... Could I replace them with quieter fans ..?
(not the assembly, just the fans in the fan assembly ..?)

If not, are there any SFP28 switches that are quiet ...? MikroTik SFP+ fanless switches are amazing.
