Basically this is what sth readers want. Lots of power, quiet, small, cheap. I find these in the wild running small to medium sized offices.

Bought 1. Been lurking for a dedicated box for pfsense. Have been running it for years as a vm in esxi but wanted a dedicated box for it as any time I wanted to do maintenance on that server it brings down my whole network (which loses money for me, as I do a lot of crypto mining). This seems perfect. Thanks!

one of the problems with these cheap tiny supermicro cases is inability to easily swap drives, gotta unscrew, remove the lid to do that so unless you're running it purely like in SAN or client mode with some usb-mounted rootfs this is challenging, otherwise seems like a great buy. heck, its even dual sfp+ not sfp. wow.

I spent not much less than this on just the motherboard a few months ago and thought I got a good deal.

Tempting, I have a Dell R210ii running my PFSense that is probably not far off in capabilities that was less than $200 but this just seems like a cool box :)

I've been waiting for a decent priced one to come available for a long time. They usually hover around $700-$800.

On the fence myself...

Anyone have an idea for Best Offer?

I "best offered" on this at $450, basically to counteract the shipping. No auto response and no personal response so far (although it is barely 9AM Pacific Time now).

What's the best usage scenario for this? It's too expensive for a pfsense router, and too small for storage or AIO server (only 4 sff)...
That is kind of what I was thinking. Again my R210ii was less than half the price and the only thing I need to add is a 10gb NIC.
Its already ultra low power consumption and ultra low noise thanks to the IPMI control on the BMC.

Its smaller and lighter, but that really doesn't matter once it is on a rack, and the R210ii has rack rails making it easier to work on anyways.

pretty common US the bay pricing on 2400T 32GB sticks is about $100USD (or less in qty) right now. so factor slightly higher total for 32GB buying smaller sticks.
