Has anyone messed with the 10G-SFPP-T modules that allow you to use a regular 10G SFP+ port to link at 2.5/5G?

I'm having an issue where it's very slow in one direction only.

iperf3
2.5G side -> 10G side 1.8Gbit
10G side -> 2.5G side 180Mbit

I've replaced the cables, and tried 2 different 2.5G devices, and the issue persists.

Switch is an ICX6610.

Guess I'm picking up some AOM-AQS-107... I tried the rate-limit setting on the switch as well, and thought that would have helped if it was transmitting too fast, but apparently not based on those threads.

I was having a similar issue with my HPE 5800 switch with an Ipolex Copper SFP+ transceiver. I returned it and purchased the Mikrotik S+RJ10 rev 2 transceiver. The retries are still there for sure, but Im not seeing the massive drop in speeds that I was seeing on the Ipolex. I can only assume the Mikrotik S+RJ10 rev 2 is doing something similar to what the AOM-AQS-107 transceiver is doing.

In what testing Ive done on my own, even actual 10g devices interacting with 1G devices on the HPE 5800, there are alot of retries as well.

I just wanted to say I've also encountered the same issue (and wrote up my full experience in a blog post)—I was using FLYPROFiber SFP-10G-T-30M transceivers and all my 2.5 Gbps devices had the exact same problem: full bandwidth from 10G devices to them, but extremely spotty/slow bandwidth in the opposite direction.

I was wondering why my copies to my NAS were unbearably slow, while copies from them would be line speed. And today I was reminded again when I swapped out a 10G device for a 2.5G to test it, and it started behaving the same way :(

This reminds me that I finally got a AOM-AQS-107 but haven't had the chance to test it against a 2.5G NIC
