Don't suggest stupid ideas. RAM is already expensive and growing...Still waiting for a shitcoin that relies on memory capacity. Maybe there already is one out there that just didn't become popular enough?

The lowest prices for new exos x16 (ST16000NM001G) went up 30%+ in the last week, most retailers are out of stock:Actually it appears enterprise HDDs are affected by this too and I can't buy 18-20tb WD gold anymore for affordable price. I just bought one this year for 600-700 USD. Dammit son. I'm using these for backups and mirrors, wth......
I'm wondering if some folks will run huge ram disksChia needs 300gb of free space while it makes the 100gb hdd sections
I was thinking some raid tutorials to optimize $\value for this purpose... using 500GB and 1TB drives... would make my 2 dozen+ 500GB RE drives worth something again Then again it would also start eating at lower capacity SSD too :/I guess it's time for us to sell those old 2-3tb HDDs for 3x price they were in 2013-2014. Wall street sharks would bite our hands off with em.
lol imagine 1TB and below HDDs rising in value again, that would make stripping STBs for them a more valuable proposition again!I was thinking some raid tutorials to optimize $\value for this purpose... using 500GB and 1TB drives... would make my 2 dozen+ 500GB RE drives worth something again Then again it would also start eating at lower capacity SSD too :/
Mind enlighting us what that something else may be, if the shelves are empty?someone wanna offer me $1500/ea for them, I'll use something else!
Never said that. Still got a bunch (I think something like 24-30) of 400GB HGST SAS 12gb/s SSDs sitting on the shelves. That's what I was using before I switched to the Sandisk. I can use them again!Mind enlighting us what that something else may be, if the shelves are empty?
