Just finished the latest raptor build using the amd epyc 7h12 cpu that Patrick just wrote about.
specs:

7h12 cpu
supermicro h12ssw-in
256GB 3200MHz ram
Mellanox connectx-6dx dual port 100GE
ultra compact custom case built by NFC Systems

That’s just a cruel tease. Where are the rest of the pics? How are you cooling it? Are those QSFPs 40g or 100? Come on...dish the rest of it!

Will do later today if interested. Dual port 100GE as the dual port 200GE would oversubscribe the pci gen 4 X16 bus. This build was for a very specific use case. It was just interesting to see Patrick's article on the 7h12. Cooling for all of these builds is one of the more challenging aspects. This build uses a dynatron vapor chamber copper heat sink with a noctua industrial 3k fan directly over the cpu. There is also a second noctua over the NIC as that gets pretty hot especially in such a small enclosure. I designed the technical aspects of this build and Josh from NFC Systems created the custom enclosure.

@jpmomo I totally agree. Luckily Dell handled the cooling. Otherwise, I think I would have used a liquid cooler.
