Impacts of the AMD EPYC launch that they did not pre-brief on. Such is life.

No word on a PoE version.

If they had a CRS354-48G-4s+-2Q+RM with POE+ I'd be all over it. Even if it was limited to a few ports (12-ish?) i'd use it as my main distribution switch. And the combo @Jeggs101 mentions is a great one too.

You mean this model? MikroTik that has full 802.3at on all 48 ports?(although with an 800w power budget it can't feed 48 devices all calling for the maxmimum allowed 30w in the standard.

I should have looked at their product site. Thanks.

They posted the PoE model the same day our review went live. What can you do?

Has anyone actually purchased this switch and can speak to fan noise? I work in the same room as my rack (though it's in a closet) so noise is a concern.

I'd like to know more about the fan noise as well. I have a gnodal switch that I would consider swapping out if it was less noisy - the gnodal keep reving up the fans and I reckon the mikrotilk will use less power. Keep the wife happy.

Btw I wish they had a switch with something like:
2 x QSFP
10 x SFP+
12 x RJ45 1GB

This would be the perfect all in one switch for me - an all in one.

An option might be something like a CRS326-24S+2Q+RM with 12x 1g SFP to RJ45 transceivers.

Thanks - not really considered going down the 1g SFP route. I might well test that out, though I may as well stick with my gnodal if I go down that route assuming it works :)

Mikrotik(and several other vendors) do offer 10GbaseT SFP+ adapters, they're not cheap when considering 12(a second 10GbaseT switch would be a better option money wise) but they are effective.
(at 40 per adapter which I paid for an ipolex module you're looking at 480 USD approaching the price of a CRS312-4C+8XG-RM )
