Does anyone know what the maximum disk size that the SAS 9305-16i Host Bus Adapter supports? I have a bunch of 16TB disks I want to use for a new NAS build. If that HBA doesn't support 16tb disks, which HBA, preferably a server pull, should I get?

Believe it was only the old cards that had the 2TB limit and new cards its basically infinite?

Sas v1 was limited by mbr partitions to 32 bit for logical block addressing (lba), sas2 and newer impelementation use 48 bits for addressing (lba48) which allows the usage of devices up to 128 PByte

Up to 128Pb for devices with 512 byte sectors. And up to 1 Exabyte for devices with 4Kn sectors. So basically infinite.

It was mostly SAS 1 LSI controllers that had this limit. Other brands supported larger disk sizes.
