Hi. Was looking at knocking up a cheap access point to extend occasional coverage into the garage, and started to make one out of spares: an RPi and an old 802.11n USB dongle.
Then I realized I have a very robust CenturyLink router/802.11ac AP just sitting around because I plumb my own generic Linux networking appliance straight into the ONT and do my own PPPoE and routing.
So it's easy enough to use a wifi router as a dumb access point, but for my purposes it'd be inside my home network. I'm pretty careful to DMZ stuff I don't trust, but that wouldn't easily work for this purpose.
So my question is, would you trust a CL router inside your firewall?
