I have 3 openbox Vega64's Used for <3 days each, just test bench, I was headed the ROCm path and got too busy to pursue. Bought them new, reference blowers. $350 or BO. I have the retail boxes for them.

Will post pictures, heatware and more toys later.
I am not using them figured I would cash them out before they were useless.

I'm looking for a Vega56/64 since some time, just because I want one in my collection (and for some tests) but I don't understand why they keep costing so much.
Used Vega64 are more expansive than brand new RX5700's, which are also faster!

I mean, the crypto-craziness is over, why people are chasing Vega GPUs instead of buying new RX5700 ones?

(sorry if I wrote these questions here, if it's inappropriate I will edit)

If all you do is game then a 5700 is probably for you. If you do work, Vega64 for OpenCL ROCm or 2080/2080ti for cuda.
RTX 2080 vs. Radeon VII vs. 5700 XT: Rendering and Compute Performance [Updated] - ExtremeTech
That is vs the XT, the 5700 has straight up Half the computational abilities of the Vega64, it is just a better gaming architecture, Vega was never great for gaming compared to its computational abilities.

Was simply giving the folks here that might be interested in Compute cards the chance to get cards that haven't been burned out by mining as the Vegas on ebay are 90% mined on cards.

Here in Germany, used Vega 56s go for toward 200€ and 64s occasionally drop down to like 250€.

Way cheaper then the 5700.

Well, that make sense and can be in fact the reason for the high price of Vega GPUs I guess ;)

On a related note Vega uses HBM memory which has higher bandwidth for lower power budget than DDR4/GDDR5 contemporaries but higher cost. 5700 uses GDDR6 which closes the gap on performance at a more consumer targeted price but still HBM is superior for general compute rather than gaming.

Yeah, I'm surprised HBM hasn't caught on more as having 2048 width vs 256 is a huge jump even though the rated speeds may be the same:
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Specs
AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 Specs

Because the cost is staggering, I think $450 was the card cost for the vega64 and the Radeon VII was sold at cost. HBM is stupidly expensive. I have a couple of motherboards consumer and server I plan on putting up soon. H370, dual 2011, x99, x370 incoming.
