Added an update just after this went live. PCIe Gen3 x16.

Rumor was it is 2nd gen 3D XPoint.

Good to see a new memory tech finally getting faster, but normal NAND flash devices have been capable of these speeds for ages.

Note, I said capable... no one really made a full x16 pci-e gen3 card that I'm aware of. Most were x4 or x8, which definitely limited speeds.

I wonder what the power consumption is on this card at peak write workloads...

besides sheer bandwidth, 3D xpoint aka Optanate is on whole another level as far as latency goes.

Understood. I come from a world of selling and building solutions around microsecond latency flash storage.

I'll be interested to see what the latencies are from this card with a few different benchmarks on it.
