Hmm, commercial epyc 7702 is supposed to be 2ghz stock?
If you look at the pictures it shows some missing components on the processors themselves. They look to be ganged parts whatever they are. most likely capacitors. These ES parts appear to be clocked lower than production. You can find references to a leak on the H12DST-PS boards with these processors nearly a year back if you search on google.

When I ordered some ES CPUs from "Japan", they were shipped from China. Dont be surprised.

I wonder how CPUs can end up in such poor condition. Did someone decide to throw a bunch of them into a tumble-dryer? Or try to destroy them in a paper shredder?

Probably just a large waste bin haha
If that’s not how they came to be like that really wonder how people take care of them even for testing. (Says the guy that’s dropped a CPU on the floor before)
