What socket are these W-2200 CPU's? Are there any Supermicro boards that support these?

Hi

With the new reduced prices for Xeon W-22xx CPU’s, I expect there will be a revival of interest in the LGA 2066/C422 platform.

Supermicro have confirmed on their FAQ site that they intend to release a new Bios to allow the X11SRA platform to accommodate the new Cascade Lake Xeon W-22xx CPU’s which have 165 W TDP.

Perhaps the competition from AMD is really beginning to have some beneficial effect.

Stay tuned.

I like how Intel has included ECC RDIMM support with the W-2200 series, 4 channel @ 2933 MHz.
I wonder how the similarly priced Intel Xeon W-2255 stacks up against the AMD Epyc 7302P for workstation use, such as photo/video editing in the $800-$850 price range?

$798 Intel W-2255 (3.7 / 4.5GHz) (4.7GHz 4-core TB3) (10C/20T) (19.25MB) (165W) (FCLGA2066)
$825 Epyc 7302P (3.0 / 3.3GHz) (16C/32T) (128MB) (155/180W) (SP3)
