Dual 10GBase-T port PCIe v3 network adapter

I have a need to upgrade to 10GE some servers based on Supermicro X10 motherboards which currently have built-in 1GE ports.

What would you recommend as reasonably priced pcie v3 network adapter which would support two 10GBase-T ports ?

Been looking for two days on ebay for network adapters based on Intel X550 chipset however they are all very pricey.

Reading numerous posts I have noticed that Mellanox cards with SFP+ ports are popular choice, however I require 10GBase-T

you can buy 10GBase-T transceivers, I'd imagine that will be your best option assuming you want to use your pre-existing Cat6 cabling and must use 10GBase-T. It will bump the price though

Sadly, 10G in general is still overpriced, 10GBase-T more so. The biggest reason we get the SFP+ cards cheap is that they are used pulls and older.

I have no idea if they are good or not, but maybe Aquantia NICs can be used for your purpose?

Do note that the listing states that it is a pcie x1 slot, and while most pictures show a x4 card, some do show x1, so I would assume it is actually x1, which could limit bandwidth. The listing also states that the model no. is AQN-100 SFP+ NIC, which it clearly isn't.

Anyway, what is wrong with X540 NICs? Too old or you do not have enough lanes available?

check LR-Link, 2 port that can support rj45 sfp. A full pci-e 3 running on 4x.

People should spell out their budget constraints in absolute numbers. "Cheap" and "expensive" are relative terms and mean different things to different people.
A used Intel X540-T2 sells for about $80 shipped which is an ok price in my opinion. The noname SFP+-to-RJ45 transceivers are still about $50 shipped and if you need 2x 10000BaseT ports it gets more expensive than buying a single X540-T2.

As he asking for a pcie V3... LR link are. Not the over priced inter x540... LR-link is 1.5yrs old and fully supported in esxi too. * And they have a version rj45 , all brand new. Much better than any.

Just bought 4x of the first and 8x of hte last and shoved htem into my c6220 and htey work great.
