Please suggest best motherboard for SSI-EEB case. I Have NEC Express5800/T120d system. Inside is GA-7PESE motherboard for E5-2400v1. This motherboard looks custom for NEC and most likely like died. At least system stopped power on, only BMC is alive. So now I’m thinking about upgrade to LGA2011.

Best which I could find was Supermicro X9DRH-7TF because of 7 slots and great connectivity options. My concern is that board E-ATX, but case is SSI-EEB. Will it fit without drilling holes?
Another nice option is Intel S2600CP2 which offer less PCI-E lanes and slots, but SSI-EEB form factor.

Maybe I missed other boards for dual LGA2011. Please recommend me, if you know any interesting options with at least 6 PCI-E slots and IPMI. 10G NIC and SAS controllers are nice to have, but not must.

i sold my intel s2600 and got asus z9PE-D16. intel s2600 won't run oem cpu like 2696 v2. also it has limited support of pcie 3.0 cards unless you run v2 cpu. also there is less trouble with having to deal with the fan settings which is too complex with s2600

the asus MB is also very compatible with windows 10 and support s3 sleep without any trouble... i was never able to get any supermicro x9 more to properly do s3 sleep in window 10 or even 7

Supermicro X9DR3-LN4F+-B. It has 24 ram slots. I have one. It's alot less expensive to get lots of memory on this board. When I upgraded my other computers to 32G sticks, I put the 16 sticks on the X9DR3-LN4F+-B and still get tons of memory.

I had one of those they are EEATX form factor not SSI-EEB...really big.

If it's for a server rack just get a DELL R720 chassis, I've bought one with rack rails one cpu and 16gb ram 1100W platinum redundant power supply units for 200€.
