Nice write-up.
I absolutely love my 4-5 year old Precision 7510.
I have no reason to upgrade at all ..but man I sure do want to!

Questions:

During your testing ... what was your experience with heat/noise levels .. or with fans kicking in???
I had a Dell XPS 17 (L702x) and the fan coming on/off was the only thing I did not like about it.

With that experience I avoided having options in my Precision 7510 that tended to generate extra heat
(ie higher end cpu/gpu, 4k display, or even running M.2 NVME drives). It stays quiet and cool.
I do plan to try newer NVME drives as they seem to not run so hot like the earlier versions.

My other question was about the screen being 2160p ...
is it not expected to cause the laptop battery to discharge faster compared to lower resolution screens??

When you run graphics tests ... are all of them run at max resolution possible or 1080p across the board?
(or did I miss that test variable??)

(As i type this.... i'm realizing this is for reference anyhow .. not head to head.)
