W-3245 with 16 cores I am sure will be popular and pricing is ok.

Has the LGA 2066 Xeon W line been oficially orphaned with Intel moving them to Xeon Scalable Socket?

They aren't even that impressive. Price is completely outrageous. The 16C Xeon W3245 cost 2000 U$D, whereas AMD EPYC 7302P cost 825 U$D. The only advantage is a 1 GHz higher clock speed, which is merely because AMD still didn't bothered to release some high TDP, high clock Workstation class EPYCs.
I wouldn't put a potential TR Rome as a rival of them due to lack of proper Server/Workstation Motherboards. The whole TR4 platform is consumer oriented, and the AsRock Rack X399D8A-2T is still missing...
