Hi guys,

I've been experimenting with CEPH for a while on harddisks in my homelab but like to upgrade to ssd's.
I stumbled upon a cheap 20pc lot of Kingston v300 120gb disks wich would fit my cluster nicely.

Given that these are consumer disks with a really low 63TB lifespan I will not use these in a production environment, but I 'm hoping they'll do ok for a poc system.

Does anybody have experience with these drives on CEPH as OSDs?
According to this sites benchmarks they should do fine as journals but I don't know if they might give me any problems down the road using them as OSDs.

I have a few V300's but they aren't anything I'd put in a mission critical server, they were one of the last sandforce drives and nothing i'd use past a cheap boot disk in raid 1

I was seeing mixed comments about them, not sure what to think of it.
I'll try to find some used Intel 3510's instead.
Thanks for your help!

I've got 4510's as a volume here, they're "cheap"(about 450-500 for 3.84tb) on ebay if you're looking for high capacity
