Here's $80 per from the seller. I found after I posted. 32GB DDR4-2666Mhz Registered DIMM (RDIMM) Memory TSV, 3DS 1S4Rx4 special price! | eBay

Here's 32GB DDR4-2666 RDIMMs for $680 for 8 or $85 each 256GB 8x32GB DDR4-2666Mhz RDIMM Memory TSV for SuperMicro servers special price | eBay

That's really low for 32GB DIMMs these days.

Here's another insane one 32GB DDR4-2933 for $99 ea https://www.ebay.com/itm/32GB-DDR4-2933Mhz-Registered-DIMM-RDIMM-Memory-TSV-3DS-1S4Rx4-special-price/192994990494

That's fast enough for Xeon Platinum 8200 and Gold 6200 at 2933.

according to seller memory only works with v3/4 E5-2600 Supermicro.
I assume it would not work with say D-15xx Xeon

hey guys, can someone educate me on what the 1S4Rx4 means? My understanding is that something like 4Rx4 means quad-rank DIMM using x4 devices, right? but what is this 1S thing?

Almost went in on these a few weeks ago, however I can't get clear confirmation if 3DS/TSV is supported on E5-2600 v3's. I know this is totally supported on E5-2600 v4's.

1S4Rx4 = 1 stack ( 1main + 1 slave ) quad rank with x4 bus width.

In general you can think of these sticks as running 2DPC 2Rx4 dimms. which means you get the maximum amount of memory bandwidth via interleaving.

4R LR 32gb.... watch people don’t try to mix with the vastly more common 2R non LR versions.

3DS/TSV !== LR.

This does not have the LR Buffers. It's just regular ram that is 3D stacked hence 3DS/TSV. You do need the support as the registers are different in order to r/w the slave chips.

But yes you are correct that you cannot combine these with regular Registered DIMMs

Whoops was reading the wrong line in a spec sheet, got mismatched after the 4R

Rather common config for 64(+)gb dimms but don’t see many 32gb like this, maybe more coming because these are still fast and not old.

Yeah it's not too common and support is still scarce. These would be perfect for e5-2600v4 or scalable systems.....

If someone could tell me if they work on E5-2600v3's that aren't supermicro that be great :p

"It also works with all Supermicro E5-2600 V3 CPU based machines as long as the BIOS updated to be capable to run with V4 CPUs" on the 8x32GB DDR4-2666Mhz RDIMM Memory TSV. Sounds like v4 only for the 3DS/TSV?

Would like to pair these with a 26XX v3 if possible.

How many did you end up ordering Patrick?

Think you can try them on some e5-2600v3 systems?
Just a handful. Unlikely that we will get to E5-2600 V3 systems with these just because the few V3 systems we have left are set up in a remote data center with lower power costs.

Got it. I’ll pick up a few then and see if they work. Might not be able to test a full set. But at least in dual channel.

Got a few 2933 dimms up and running... Very whitelabel.... the DRAM IC's are all blanked out like on the pictures. My dell FC640 with 2x8258 QS runs it at 2933, and reports no manufacture or serial number on the dimms.
