I just picked up a Supermicro X10DRi-T dual socket motherboard which has 8 fan headers (Fan 1-6, FanA, FanB). I'm not seeing in the BIOS or IPMI where one sets which fan headers are to be used for the CPU fans.

Fan 1-6 are for cooling zone 1 (cpu, ram etc)
Fan a-c are for cooling zone 2 (add on cards and io like onboards sas)
Use whatever fan header you want from the first cooling zone, I would choose the closest fan header (fan 3 or 4 for cpu 1, fan 5 or 6 for cpu 2)

Thanks for the reply. I read through that manual including page 49. Doesnt' mention anything about what fan headers are for what.
They don't mention it in the manual, but in the faqs:
