Is there an easy way to hook up a SAS HD temporarily for testing purposes?

I'm tired of mounting the drive in a SM caddy then mounting it again when I'm finished. Been looking for a SAS docking station but apparently they don't exist. Anybody got a better solution?

HBA + SAS Fan out = how I do all my testing ? No mounting needed, sit it in front of a fan to keep it cool.

I thought about that but was hoping there was a cleaner solution. I do have the necessary cabling but not a e HBA, I'll have to pick one up.

If this is on your test system\bench system then an internal card + fan out cable + power extension\splitter if needed, and go :D

Sounds like you have "clean" already and it's too much of a hassle...

For Testing, I just slide the dive into the hot swap bay carefully.
Help by using a flash light to guide the disk into the sas backplane connector

Oh, yes, great point.

I've done this too, I usually use a sharpie to sit the drive on too :D
