I always had a fetish with those cards. While they are intended for QuickSync, each Processor is still a 4C CPU with its own local RAM. Each Processor also has its own Chipset, thus there are 3 CPUs and 3 Chipsets plus 2 SODIMM Slots per CPU there. That a massive amount of raw resources, accounting for three computers with no direct I/O.

Intel had some documentation about the Software that they could be used with and a prominent one was the Xen Hypervisor. I'm not sure if they can be used with general purpose Software, like running a standard Windows VM on top of the specialized Xen version. Given the Intel GVT-g capabilities of Broadwell IGPs and that Xen supports it, they should be theorically viable for remote Desktop, too.
