Installing Mellanox CX-3 Pro on Proxmox 5.4

Has anyone done this successfully?

I tried the older 4.2 and they didn't work even adding pve-headers


New drivers are at:
http://www.mellanox.com/downloads/o...X_OFED_LINUX-4.6-1.0.1.1-debian9.6-x86_64.tgz

But I can't get them working.

I am probably not going to get to try it before heading on the plane.

I think you might want to try Debian 9.5 as well.

Proxmox support for ConnectX-4 and ConnectX-5 is out of the box, but CX-3 (Pro) is very inexpensive.

Yep, Cx-3 (69:00.0 Ethernet controller: Mellanox Technologies MT27500 Family [ConnectX-3]) on proxmox-ve: 5.4-1 (running kernel: 4.15.18-12-pve).

I didn't bother with OFED, I just installed MFT and put my ports into ETH mode, rebooted and I had 2 new interface in my network page.

iperf nets me around 37Gb/s
