1- I'm not talking about NEW NI THE BOX drives, sorry, those are even more rare to find let alone find great deals on.I was just hoping to upgrade some 10K drives in old HP Gen8 servers. So NVMe is not an option.
Obviously I would rather pay $100 than $200 but I am not seeing any new 1.6Tb selling anywhere close to that price.
The other options I am currently considering are
Micron 5100 960Gb for $90 + shipping
Intel S3610 1.6Tb for $220 shipped
2- The S3610 is a great drive, i'd prefer that over S3500 for sure! But not at $220, maybe $150-180.
3- I avoid all MICRON drives after having numerous issues with them, same for OCZ Enterprise drives. NEVER AGAIN.
4- You're liekly not going to just hop on ebay and 'find' these prices\deals. They're deals, they go FAST, soemtimes within 5 minutes of them going online they're gone.
