And these are from where I wonder, the others were HPE and I like that so even if HPE firmware it’s known how to update it... or are intel always intel firmware updatable unlike Samsung and others ?
Usually yes. Unless they are ES or test ssds.
I havent seen one that failed a firmware update as yet..and I have a whole bunch of intel SSD's both nvme and sata.

Oh cool that’s really useful into to know, all the intel I have are actual intel or an A vendor supplied that are actually used in the vendors server and hence updated that way.

No. They mark everything as freight for some unknown reason. Great seller. Just have to be patient to get the invoice with actual shipping cost.

I'm asking the seller if they'll be willing to use Intel SSD Toolbox to check health status?

So there's a different seller that has them at $315, and they actually posted health information. I'm waiting until tomorrow because I have some eBay bucks to spend...

Are those still worth getting in 2019? What would be considered a good price for these drives brand new?
There are a few auctions for HP branded 1.6Tb S3510 and S3520 listed at $199:
New HP / Intel DC S3510 1.6TB SATA 6.0Gb/s (7mm) MLC 2.5" SSD - SSDSC2BB016T6P | eBay
New HP / Intel DC S3520 1.6TB SATA 6.0Gb/s (7mm) MLC 2.5" SSD - SSDSC2BB016T7P | eBay

Also IIRC dbskyusa88 is goHardDrive. Here is the same drive at the same price.
goHardDrive.com - HP / Intel DC S3510 Series 1.6TB 2.5-inch 7mm SATA III MLC (6.0Gb/s) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BB016T6P (804574-006)- w/ 5 Years Warranty

For me they just aren't large enough. It seems silly that SSD capacity had been so stagnant.

S3500 \ S3510 $100-125 for 1.6TB is my "sweet spot"

Not common, but can BO some or find some deals :)

It's hard to pay more when NVME 1.6TB are $150-200 nowadays :D

For sure if you have the PCIe lanes and the demand is not for power / low heat the NVMe all the way for performance.

@T_Minus if you see any at $100 or close to let me know I could use some.

I was just hoping to upgrade some 10K drives in old HP Gen8 servers. So NVMe is not an option.
Obviously I would rather pay $100 than $200 but I am not seeing any new 1.6Tb selling anywhere close to that price.

The other options I am currently considering are
Micron 5100 960Gb for $90 + shipping
Intel S3610 1.6Tb for $220 shipped
