I've been watching this one for a couple of days but I've got no money left in my toy budget for it this month. I expect it to sell for <$200, maybe <$150. This is the L3 version of the low-power ICX64xx compact switch, and can itself can be PoE powered. I don't see these listed all that often, if anyone with a Brocade network is looking for a PoE powered L3 switch here you go.

Brocade ICX6450-C12-PD 12-Port 1 GBE Switch 4 PoE Ports 42111710614 | eBay

Specs: Ruckus ICX 6450-C12

Note: Unlike the other ICX6450's the SFP ports on this model *cannot* do 10Gb, they're SFP (10/100mb) only.

sfp is 1Gb, not 10/100 (although it negotiates down to that). You're thinking of sfp+, which is 10Gb

I'm aware. I wanted to clarify because people commonly shorten SFP+ to "SFP" around here.

I hope one of you nabbed that, it sold for $107 in the end.

@arglebargle thank you for the post. I needed a small POE switch for an outer room at my house, poe ap, poe phone, and homerun. I figured I've got a 6610 - why not get something that plays well with it. Yep SFP != SFP+... I won't need the SFP where its going.

I think 115 shipped was a fine price for this (assuming it works - knock knock).

thank you again for posting this.

Awesome, I didn't realize you'd won it! I'm glad it went to someone who wanted one, at that price I was hoping it would.

The nice thing about these vs the 6430-C12 (and the reason I posted it here) is that they'll mixed stack with your ICX6610 and allow you to use almost all of the L3 features of the 6610 on the 6450. So if you're looking to use/learn any of the SDN features on the 6610 you're good to go across the ports on this switch too. I think there are some OpenFlow features that won't work on the C12, but most other features should.

I didn’t realise Brocade also had a model of the compact fanless Low port count POE switch. Cool. And idle less than say a Cisco equivalent.

The data sheet for the 6450 series states that stacking is not supported on the C models, in case that’s what you meant by “playing nice” with existing Brocade setups. It would have to be managed independently.
