someone named Daniel that I do business with every now and then just contacted me to let me know that they are liquidating their inventory due to a move to a new warehouse location in a different state. It's not worth it to them to ship all their inventory to a new warehouse so they are trying to liquidate as much as possible. They have accepted my offers >50% off and and I've already received many items in working order. So, I thought I would share the opportunity with fellow STHers.

Their eBay store can be found here:

Dynamic IT Hardware | eBay Stores

The only thing that sucks is that they have a lot of really old stuff (almost obsolete?), and their listings need some work so it's a little hard to find the good stuff. But if you find something you can use, contact Daniel directly here:

DBox "at" thinkdynamic "dot" com

If you find something noteworthy in their store, please share in this thread to help other STHers. (of course, after you've placed your own orders)

EDIT: some of their list prices are rather off from market price. don't worry about it, just send Daniel what you think is a reasonable offer and see if he can do the deal.

thanks for sharing, but one should do a bit of extra pricing research.
Case in point: 7GGKT DELL EMULEX OCE11102 DP 10GB SFP+ HBA | eBay
Where everyone else selling these for $25-40
yes, but you can forget whatever price you see in their listing. just send Daniel what you think is a reasonable offer... that's the point of a liquidation sale; their list prices don't mean anything at this point.

Can these E7-8800 v2 and E7-4800 v2 be used with motherboards that support E5-2680 v2? They are all LGA2011.

So I was slagging through some of the listings and I decided to search "Intel" through some of your buddy's ads, and he has a few LGA 2011 (Ivy Bridge Xeons) that are not too bad, especially if he's willing to go half off and stuff.

Example: SR1GU | XEON E7-4830V2 E7-4830 V2 10C 2.2GHZ 20MB CPU PROCESSOR | eBay

Also: Intel SR1GZ Xeon E7-8893V2 6C 3.40GHz 37.5MB Server CPU Processor | eBay

I was thinking about sending over an email, but the only thing that's keeping me back is that I don't think I can spring for a 2011 board in this climate. Those things are insane by price still.

Posting this for anyone who might be looking for a Ivy Bridge Xeon for cheap.

Also, my search by "ssd" (you know, the shit we all want for cheap etc) and a few listings came up such as this: IBM 49Y6081 | 400GB SAS 2.5" 6GBS SSD | eBay

Remember, Blinux said list prices don't matter, so maybe a message and an offer can score you this for a few bucks, who knows? :D

I already sent an email for something I wanted, but I aint tellin'

I saw the E7s, but those I think won't work in a normal e5-2600 v1/v2 board, correct?

It's a different board. We have one machine that has an E7-8880 v2, excellent chip. They support a LOT of ram as well. I believe the blade they're in supports 3TB of ram.

No, E7 v2 processors are for the LGA2011-1 socket which has a diffrent pin layout. They don't fit.

the details are lacking, but i think the Powervault NX3000 was basically a Dell R710 appliance? Anyone know more or what to expect from these? Might be able to get a good deal on a R710

DELL NX3000 | DELL POWERVAULT NAS STORAGE SERVER | eBay
It seems to be not R710, despite similar bezel, but more like Gen 9th 2950
Looking at its specs, I would not expect much from it:
https://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/pvaul_nx3000_specsheet_en.pdf
2 or 4 cores 2006 Clovertown CPU, with the low performance and power hungry. Hardware raid with an ancient controller and whopping 6 3.5 drives with very unlikely to support for drives larger than 2tb.

yeah, you're right. that is a 2950. Looks like the NX3100 is the one that is a R710.

I don't pretend to be an expert on this but seems to be those mythical 2011-1 (socket r2) mainboards. I asked supermicro as I could only find one proprietary mainboard of theirs that fits them and none on ebay etc.

Okay, I put together what I wanted for the Precision 670--let's see if he's willing to make me a deal I can't refuse. :D
