Hey, i am looking for RAID card recommendation, it will need to run 8 SSD in RAID10 (Intel's DC's) with 4 additional HGST 10k 2.5 SAS drives in another RAID 10. It needs to be on PCI since it gonna go to my custom silent server build. Cache and battery backup would be nice for the sas drivers. Budget is around 250 Euro.

I don't know how silent the 10K SAS drives are.

So you need 12+ drives/ports of which 8 x SSDs. That puts you in the SAS3 controllers. Are you using this in HW or SW RAID setup? For SW RAID such as ZFS, you are probably looking for either 2x 9300-8i / 2x 9302-8i or 1 x 9305-16i depending on the availability of number of PCIe 3.0 x8 slots
The next generation ones are 9400 series - Such as Lenovo 530-8i

Edit - Even SAS2308 based controllers such as 9207-8i/9217-8i are PCIe 3.0. Not sure how they perform compared to 3rd & 4th gen controllers especially when you have 8 SSDs on the controller

Hey, by PCI i mean of course PCI Express 3.0 (there are a couple of them on MB). I am looking for RAID card, not HBA. If i need HBA (i do not plan on using zfs) i got couple dell's H310 flashed to it mode.
