Weren't these going for $120 a couple months ago?
not that i know of, but i could have missed something. that would have been a great deal. the lowest i've seen 2680v2 has been around $150 on a few occasions. $120 for 2695v2 would be really sweet. the 2696v2 was $230 each for a pair a little while ago. and we also saw 2697v2 for $250~$300.Weren't these going for $120 a couple months ago?

guess ya a little late to the party.... lol....it was a fire sale. some people were getting them for as low as $100 each BO for quantity as low as 4..... I've seen mass buying of like 30+ from one buyer..... and still the whole lot of 500 cpu gone in 48hrs total for both sales..... If there's another batch of 500 at $120 or less they would also be gone in 24 hr or less.not that i know of, but i could have missed something. that would have been a great deal. the lowest i've seen 2680v2 has been around $150 on a few occasions. $120 for 2695v2 would be really sweet. the 2696v2 was $230 each for a pair a little while ago. and we also saw 2697v2 for $250~$300.
it's just a matter of time for v2....lol..... you can only go as fast as dual 2696 v2.... which is now actually more expensive than 1950x.... so it's just a matter of time..... the fact that ddr3 is cheaper as well as the fact that you can get above 256gb won't hold v2 up for too long once ryzen become significantly faster for cheaper even more..... 90% of users doesn't need more than 64gb ram anyway.i just got a 1950x for 410USD, clock to 4ghz all cores, its 50/50 which way to go now. btw Ryzen will have 16 cores fairly soon. lifes good for AMD me thinks.
when it comes to rackmount equipment i just don't see how buying ryzen chips, mobos, and ddr4 comes close to really cheap barebones dell r620/r720 or vrtx enclosures with super cheap m620 blades and v2 chips with cheaper-than-ddr4 ddr3 16gb dimms. for the price of an average TR4 mobo i can buy 4 M620 blades with 24 dimm slots each.it's just a matter of time for v2....lol..... you can only go as fast as dual 2696 v2.... which is now actually more expensive than 1950x.... so it's just a matter of time..... the fact that ddr3 is cheaper as well as the fact that you can get above 256gb won't hold v2 up for too long once ryzen become significantly faster for cheaper even more..... 90% of users doesn't need more than 64gb ram anyway.
My steam drive is cached with 320GB RAM and a 280GB Optane drive as L2ARC90% of users doesn't need more than 64gb ram anyway.
Hilarious! I went through the same conversation with myself on those micron drives but reason won out...We needs it.
We wants it.
Must have.
Must have the precious.
I'll admit that while I have been following and amazed at the appetites for the micron SSD's I have so far remained in control. No you haven't. Yes, I have. Yes *we* have. yes. no yes... Sorry sitting in an isolated server room for the last 12 hours... NO we are not sorry... LOL
Yeah, i guess that's true if you look at it that way.... but if you look at it from a workstation point of view then things are different...when it comes to rackmount equipment i just don't see how buying ryzen chips, mobos, and ddr4 comes close to really cheap barebones dell r620/r720 or vrtx enclosures with super cheap m620 blades and v2 chips with cheaper-than-ddr4 ddr3 16gb dimms. for the price of an average TR4 mobo i can buy 4 M620 blades with 24 dimm slots each.
