Hey,

Can anyone recommend a decent SATA drive with 2.5 inch for endurance applications?
WD red would be a no-brainer if only they had a 2 TB or 3 TB option!

Cheers!

I have used the older (same vintage as the WD RED 2.5”) 2tb 15mm blue/green drives without incident for years but 15mm does not fit all places.

One thing is sure don’t use the 4tb Seagate disks ! The 5tb are better though.

These days cheap 2.5” ssd ? 2tb can be had cheap, use compression to make most of your space.

What thickness can you use, 15mm or 9.5mm or 7mm?
WD has a Blue 2TB 7mm.
Seagate has a Barrracuda 2TB 7mm.
Toshiba has a 2TB 9.5mm.

I have to check, 9mm fits for sure, not sure if 9.5 fits as well. Checked the external 2.5 Seagate, but they seem all to be around 14mm
