It depends on how badly you need it. With all the sales in the next 2 months, I'd wait as you might be able to find a better deal.
ddr3 is EOL. I don't think you are going to see 32G chips cheaper than this. Do you think these are still being produced new?
I don't think the production status matters at all. Prices usually drop as quantity comes off of lease and goes through recyclers. Just by searching this subforum you can see that the prices are trending downwards. 32GB RDIMMs certainly aren't as common so this could be the bottom.
As to your question of it's it worth it? It's a very good price if you need 32GB DIMMs. If you don't and can get away with 16GB then $72 is all of a sudden far less attractive. Using 16GB DIMMs you can get the same capacity for half of the price if you know where to look. Again that is dependent on 16GB being suitable for your needs.

2. Unless you need 32GB for your use case, I think 16GB DDR3 RDIMMS are still the sweet spot. If you keep an eye on the auctions and BOs, you can get PC3-14900R 16GB around $35 on a regular basis. 12800R / 10600R can be sourced for less.
For example just won this today. So I still need to receive and test but if there are no issues, the sticks are < $18 ea.

Wonder why the link says 4R. The actual item is 2Rx4 PC3L-12800R. In any case, it's a one off and not a regular price.
It's just ebay trying to show active listings instead of the one you linked... Such a pain when referencing sold items. Clicking through to the original listing has the specs you mentioned
I don't have any handy right now. When I found mine I bought >75 so I haven't been looking for a while. Create some saved searches and you'll find some deals. Keep an eye on r/homelabsales as well as the FS section here as you'll often find individuals looking to offload extra equipment rather than businesses looking to maximize profit.
