You might try just bringing the interface down "disable" then back up "enable"

I honestly can't remember if the fastiron version on the turboirons supported dhcp on the management interface, I would think they did

Nope. rebooting , and disabling and enabling the interface did not get a DHCP address.
Any other command I can use to get a DHCP address?

Just a FYI; I had an issue with my LB6M when the 'management 1' port went down due to me rebooting my OOB mngt server some of the vlan tagged ports on the switch stopped processing traffic until they were disabled/enabled.

Took me while to figure out why some hosts randomly were going offline but after moving the OOB mngt to a L3 interface instead the issues have stopped.

I am having problems when getting the 10g modules to run from LB6M to brocade 6610. The same modules work if I connect the 6610 to itself or the LB6M. anyone else have this problem and figure it out?

nope, works great, in fact I have a LACP connection of 4x 10gbE runs from a 6610 to an LB6M:

Code:
telnet@LB6M#sh int br e 9 to 12

Port Link State Dupl Speed Trunk Tag Pvid Pri MAC Name
9 Up Forward Full 10G 9 No 1 0 54ab.3a41.d11a
10 Up Forward Full 10G 9 No 1 0 54ab.3a41.d11a
11 Up Forward Full 10G 9 No 1 0 54ab.3a41.d11a
12 Up Forward Full 10G 9 No 1 0 54ab.3a41.d11a
What do you mean by "module"? Are you using DAC's or optics? Also, have you set the 6610 SFP+ ports to 10gbE? By default they run at 1gbE, which obviously won't link with the LB6M, but will link with itself. To run them at 10gbE, you need to import a valid 10gbE license, then tell them to run at 10gbE in the 6610 config:

Code:
conf t
int eth 1/3/1 to 1/3/8
speed-duplex 10g-full
#if the switch pauses after this for a minute, it's normal
write mem

Fohdessa, thanks. I did not know I had to set those interfaces to 10g, I guess I assumed they would auto-neogiate. They are working great now. Much appreciated.

HM. I did the MAC fix in the bootloader, but when I do a sh int br, all the macs on every port show up as

all ports in the same vlan will share the mac address of the VE for that vlan, that's how it's supposed to work - that vlan is one big l2 bridge with that VE

Ok good, sort of. I enabled CDP to send info to Vsphere, and as soon as I enabled it on the ports, I started taking errors:

sho fdp tra

CDP/FDP counters:
Total packets output: 0, Input: 3010
Hdr syntax: 0, Chksum error: 0, Encaps failed: 0
No memory: 0, Invalid packet: 0, Fragmented: 0
Internal errors: 280

I've just flashed a new LB6M from UnixPlus and am also seeing the management port weirdness - mine is coming up at 10M half. The LEDs work in reverse (no lights when it's connected, lights when it is disconnected) and the mgmt2 light is permanently on.

Just curious we've established that the other 4 copper interfaces work reliably at 1G? e.g., can I safely use one of the non-management copper ports for management?

Cheers.

yeah all the other ports including copper ports are off the ASIC and work perfectly. it's just the mgmt port that comes off the CPU that can do that occasionally. you can use any of the other ports for mgmt

You can flash v7 from inside the booted switch at the enable level with just:

copy tftp flash 192.168.1.8 v7-layer3.bin primary
reload
I just noticed the change in the OP about using v7 instead of v8. I just want to double-check that all I need to do is run the above command, pointing to the brocadeimage.bin that's now downloaded from Brokeaids?

Also I noticed that the documentation in the ZIP on Brokeaids doesn't include the TurboIron24X Config Guide, which as a newbie I found by far the most useful doc. Partly because it's all the documentation in a single file, but mostly because it's the only doc that specifically states what features are and are not supported on the TurboIron (and thus the flashed LB6M). Before I had the Config Guide I was always a little confused reading the general FastIron docs as to whether a given feature or syntax was supported on the TurboIron/LB6M.

Here's a link to download TurboIron24X_07400_ConfigGuide.pdf for anyone who wants it.
Thanks again.

it did, but I removed the v8 config guide PDF when I removed the awful v8 firmware. It was replaced with the v7 config guide, which should be the exact same but with all the correct info for the v7 image. the v8 pdf had some stuff that was only applicable to the v8 image, which is now removed due to the fact it was basically a beta

and yeah those are the only commands you need

(last v7 release for the turboiron was 7.4 in April of 2016, versus 2015 for the v8 image in this guide)
Hello! I saw such a feature that the firmware version 07.3.00s is newer than 07.4.00p. - https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...urboiron-big-update.17971/page-13#post-183032
Code:
SW: Version 07.3.00sT203 Copyright (c) 1996-2013 Brocade Communications Systems, Inc.

      (6643818 bytes) from Primary TIR07300s.bin
It says here that firmware 07.3.00sT203 was compiled on Sep 29 2016 at 23:42:25.

Documentation is also newer: https://ruckus-support.s3.amazonaws...182771&Signature=K9tHO0U7TfBOrkfymJsSew3Vw8Y=

FastIron Software Release 07.4.00p

Now I can not understand what is still newer and stable? :)

7.4.00p is the latest codetrain with the most features. the 7.3 is the older codetain, it was updated later because they patched a bug in it in october (the s at the end)

Does the V7 l3 image not have the cluster commands? I'm trying to set up the MCT and there is no cluster command.
