Let us know what you land on for the price on those Intel 2TB ssd's. Wish I still lived in cali would have been fun to help you do those pulls..
I think I am going to have 50+ of them by Thursday.Let us know what you land on for the price on those Intel 2TB ssd's. Wish I still lived in cali would have been fun to help you do those pulls..
Are you putting up the SAS JBODs? How long have they been in production, are the drives well used or light use?I think I am going to have 50+ of them by Thursday.
Thursday we are pulling 6 more of those SM 1U's, 2x 2U 4N Intel servers, and then a 24-bay JBOD with 8TB HGST HE10 SAS drives.
I sadly cannot afford to keep it all so I need to sell a good part of it off. If the 1U's do not sell on their own, I will likely strip and sell the CPUs, RAM, drives, and NICs.
you selling any 32gb Lrdimm by themselves? how much? thnx
But he got a lot of themyou selling any 32gb Lrdimm by themselves? how much? thnx
Usually it’s the 3rd channel that drops speed so much in e5 v3/v4 but yes that’s when lrdimm is useful, little reason not to run it also in smaller memory configs, only keep in mind you can’t mix with rdimm. Thanks for the DIMMs! Crucial and Micron stickers on this set. If you don't know what an LRDIMM is, it is what you want if you are filling up 2 DIMMs per channel or more. LRDIMMs allow memory to run at full or higher speed when multiple channels are filled compared to standard RDIMMs
so you can mix lrdimm and rdimm? i didn't knowUsually it’s the 3rd channel that drops speed so much in e5 v3/v4 but yes that’s when lrdimm is useful, little reason not to run it also in smaller memory configs, only keep in mind you can mix with rdimm.
I am still trying to convince myself not to buy a bunch of NVMe disks. Somebody else please buy them to save me.
I think Evan wanted to say you can't. I know Dell says they won't work together.so you can mix lrdimm and rdimm? i didn't know
yeah i figured... anyway for me i think best looking for 16gb rdimm since these can be used in a lot more systems such as x99 and x399 in addition to 2011 v3/v4... does intel have anything similar to single socket x399 that would let you use ecc rdimm?I think Evan wanted to say you can't. I know Dell says they won't work together.
