Matched pair of Intel Xeon E5-2696 v2 12-core 2.5Ghz Processors (SR19G) | eBay

This is the absolute lowest price i 've seen. I got these for $600 back a few yr back and this price is even much better. If i didn't already own a bucket load of different v2 cpu, i would buy them immediate!.... You can always send a msg to seller and try for even better offer....

Two 2696 v2 slightly exceed 1950X multicore performance. A single cpu is still also very potent. This is absolutely the most affordable fastest multicore performance avail for the x79 2011 v2 platform!

Please note that these will not work with intel s2600 series board as they are not on the approved cpu list (intel being bitchy) but these will work with supermicro and asus and the cheap chinese boards.

not seeing this processor on the Intel Ark site. Is this a ES only processor? A model that never made it to real production?

These are OEM processor. Very much identical to the E5-2697 but with slightly lower speed.

Jump on this thing guys before I broke down and get more. I am already in for a pair. This is very much the end of the line upgrade for the DDR3 support socket platform. Like wildpig said, this dual setup is actually faster than 1950x in multi-thread (by around 8%) but slower in single thread by 14%.

If you want it, just get it! Like i said, if i didn't already got a pair of 2696 v2 (as well as pair of 2660, 2667, 2670, 2680v2) would already bought them...lol...

since these are OEM CPUs, they are not listed on compatibility list of many motherboards right? do we have a list some where here on compatible motherboards? i was thinking for some of my supermicro X9 dual socket systems...

I am running these currently on asus Z9Pe-d16. I have tested them on two supermicro boards so they should work also tested them on a cheap chinese x79 board which works so they should work on most chinese x79 since they are mostly based on same design and chip
(huanan)

they definitely do not work on intel s2600 boards.

Listing also said that they are pulled from supermicro systems. That's the second data point saying that they should work on supermicro boards.
