Feeling silly here, must be rusty, have not done one of these in quite some time. Hitting a wall on my X8SI6-F mobo that has an integrated LSI 2008 B2 chipset. Was at v19, was trying to simply go to 20.0.0.7.

Tried this:
sas2flsh -list (docuemented sas addy)
sas2flsh -o -e 6
sas2flsh -o -f 2118it.bin

Running into various errors no matter what I try such as 'ERROR: Failed to Upload Image! Firmare Image Validation Failed' and 'failed to validate mfg page 2'...feel like I have re-read all my notes/blogs. Tried P7 FW, -o -e 7 wipe, have not rebooted due to thinking I will roast my HBA.

Any assist from here. I think I have P7/P19/P20 code avail on my freedos flash stick, probably flashed a hundred of these over the years hence feeling like a silly guy now.

Any assist is greatly appreciated...I must be losing my IT juju/mojo.

TIA, whitey

So at this point I have wiped using -o -e 7 options and re-tried P20 20.00.04.00 and 20.00.07.00 and they both yield this:

2008-woes.jpg What to do ohh what to do? :-(

Wonder if trying flash to Dell 6Gbps FW, then v7, then v20 is the trick or if that is asking for trouble, my notes show that is for a H310 and never hit this w/ a normal LSI 2008 HBA but hell I could be wrong.

NM all, issues seemed to be caused by me having two ctrl's in, one onboard LSI 2008 and a Dell Perc H310 and me flipping -c 0 or 1 arnd.

All good now and both updated to 20.00.07.00

Sniff, it's a beautiful thing :-D
