Just got 2x "Broadcom NetXtreme II 57710 Single Port 10GBase-T Ethernet PCI-Express Network Interface Card"... part number: 0RK375

My test PC can't detect the card at all and the fan doesn't start.
Did Dell cripple these cards to only work in their servers?

I'm really new to 10gbit ethernet... and learing every day ;)
I read that cat6 should be ok until about 30m.
Connected my 2 cards with an existing 10m cat6 cable (goes through a wall).
But after some time the nics kept losing connection (media disconnected).
Tried drivers, power saving settings, bios.. all useless.
Before giving up I though I could try a cat7 cable... and voila connection perfect every time.

Feel stupid for talking to myself....
It looks like my problem with "media disconnected" wasn't due to the cable, but more the NIC being in the x16 pcix 3.0 slot of my Ryzen mainboard. Since I put it in my x4 pcix 2.0 slot the connection has worked every time.
