I could be just imagining it but seems like since the platform has matured the idle power consumption is down from launch ? (110w idle is pretty good for that system)

One of AMD's slides mentioned that the 2nd generation EPYC CPUs will remain socket compatible. I'm just wondering do Supermicro support drop in compatibility with EPYC2 CPUs?

Not speaking for Supermicro, but the next generation of CPUs should be in the same socket.
