Hi,
It seems that Dell is about to release PowerEdge r6415 (and r7415/r7425) with Epyc CPUs.
The pricing and availability is not up yet on the Dell page, but there are already documentation articles, drivers etc.

Also the r6415 is already certified for Ubuntu 16.04:
Ubuntu on Dell EMC PowerEdge 6415 | Ubuntu

Here is the technical specifications PDF on Dell's site:
http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/poweredge-r6415_reference guide_en-us.pdf
And here is the overview page:
Support for PowerEdge R6415 | Support topics & articles | Dell Canada

Based on the current Intel models, what price tag should we expect?
And which is the current closest Intel equivalent? r430?

Apologies, agreed to an embargo on these so cannot share additional information prior to their release.

Ok now they are released. I see the pricing.

We are looking for servers for Proxmox. I was looking at the 7351p / r6415/128 gb ram / 4x sas 600 gb / perc h730 / 2x 10 gb secondary LOM

vs dual xeon silver 4110 with the same config in a r740

The relative price is ~1000 usd in favor if the r6415 , ~7200 vs ~8200 on dells site. Probably lower on our suppliers price list but i assume the relative difference should be there.

How do these compare based on your testing for virtualization workloads with vms 2 to 4 cores and most virtual drives hosted on a SAN that is used with with lvm over iscsi?
