I'm not finding any good resource on the performance specs for the Hitachi HUSSL4040ASS600 400GB SAS SSDs. I know the endurance rating is insane (38 PBW) but I'm wondering how the real time performance compares to my Intel S3500 800GB SSDs.

Can anyone point me to a reliable resource of a performance review of these Hitachi drives?

Come on! Your googleFU can't be that bad ;)

go to google, type: HUSSL4040ASS600

on 1st page you get the hGST PDF with full specifications.

https://www.hgst.com/sites/default/files/resources/USSSD400S_ds.pdf

Open up that document, then CTRL-F to "FIND" on Windows, paste in your product model exactly: HUSSL4040ASS600 (no spaces start/end) and then you see the column that represents the data for that drive.

41,000 READ IOPs
21,000 WRITE IOPs
35PBW Endurance for 400GB Model based on a random-write work load.

They should be about 2x write perf. as a S3500 and obviously endurance is insanely higher than S3500.

They will use more power than S3500.

Also, keep in mind these are SAS drives not SATA so you get different/better queue handling too.

These are awesome drives. I have too many of these and 200gb variant of them too, so if you need any be sure to check for sale forum as I go through some JBODs I have ;D
