Some progress on the pool:

cryptonight-lite does not work yet. Trying to figure out how to enable this.

cryptonight AEON is working:

@Algeroth I don't get it? How do you figure out numbers of threads for both?

Aeon seems really illiquid. One exchange to make it anything useful
Just made a lot of test on a lot of CPU's with a _lot_ of thread configurations to get into this observations

If you are mining purley for profit aeon is 1,5-2 times more profitable than Monero right now (comparing to exactly the same CPU power)
100kH of monero speed will get you as today rate 157USD profit
the same 100kH for monero is ~300kH for Aeon and that give You 198USD, and not so long ago aeon was worth two times more
just do the simple math....kH/s is not everything... network Hrate and difficulty is whats matter.... not only simply looking on coin price.
and Aeon is where monero was 2 years ago
so those are todays facts, what will hapen in 2 years.. who knows, meaby aeon will be worth nothing... or 40usd or 100
anyway, if You can mine it today do it and get as many coins as you can before all your CPU power will be worthless on high network rate and skyhigh difficulty.

but remember that's only mine opinion ;)

Just so everyone is aware regarding what is going on in the background:

The private STH test pool is now hovering at around 1% of overall AEON hashing power. We do have a dockerized image with the pool address/ port information defaulted now so if you are using one of the scripts AEON Mining Performance then it is very easy to use. Website to check H/s is up as well.

Going to see how it runs for a bit before expanding further.

Aeon is one of the younger Altcoins and thanks to the Cryptonight protocol one of the few you can mine with CPUs. You might be lucky and the quotation goes thru the roof anytime in a far future – then you'll be millionaire like those who mined Bitcoins in 2010 or Ethereum in 2015 and sold them years later – or not like many other Altcoins which failed. But it's for sure a much higher chance than playing the lottery ;)
Thats for sure.

@Patrick: most Aeon pools are running with cryptonote-universal-pool v1.1.5, a software which hasn't been updated for several years. The guys over at aeonmining.pro are in the the final stages of adapting the Monero pool software nodejs-pool & poolui to Aeon. The already have a test pool online at aeon.hashvault.pro (which is for testing only and should not be joined). The advantage is, that you'll get all the features you have in a Monero pool including the list of your different rigs :) So perhaps you want to wait a few days till they have finished (and hopefully release the software) to have the best pool software available for the STH project

That may be a change in the near future. Does it support cryptonight-lite? I would prefer to have miner names.

Our small private pool found its first block. Watching how that all pays out and such.

Patrick,

When will the private pool be available for others to connect an mine?
Do you have a dockerize image yet for Aeon and maybe a howto wiki for setup?

Jim if you want to try, happy to get you access to the STH beta pool.

Redownloaded aeon-stak-cpu to tinker with it again.

Last time I installed it I did not let it auto config, so thats the first thing I wanted to try.

Unusual result:

I found out that on a non-dockerized xmrig on a dual E5-2660 v1 pc, not configuring for numa at all, if you run 14 threads instead of 15 it has about a %10 speed increase.

Also on my E5-2660v1 and 2665 v1 nodes running 18 threads also gives about a %10 speed increase.

EDIT: The 2660 nodes went from ~2750 H/s to ~3025 H/s
The 2665 nodes went from ~3025 H/s to 3225 H/s
