All,

I recently acquired a couple of Arista DCS-7124S-R switches and have been playing with them for the last couple of days. Full reset and stuff works, the most recent image on the two switches was EOS-4.8.1 so I backed that up before resetting. However when looking online the last firmware supported would be the 4.13 branch.

I was looking to download and upgrade the switches but Arista decided to not make those available without an expensive support-contract. And even then the switches are EOL so not much support at all anymore.

Does anyone know where I could find some more recent images for the switches?

Regards!

Hello,

I also recently got a 7050qx-32s - if anyone knows how to get the latest firmware would be most appriative.

I am also seeing if Arista will cover directly.

They are eol, yes. But even for eol network gear there are no "free" bios or firmware updates from Arista.

Hi!

Did you find a source for the latest firmware of the Arista 7050s?

Hi!

Thank you! subreddits FTP seems to be down at the moment, but on FileMare there seems to be everything I need.

Does Arista use the same firmware file for every model?

No, there are also special images for devices with smaller flash storage.

But the core functions are the same for all devices.

Is there anything, that shows me, if the image is valid for a certain model?

Can't find a command for that, but there is file in the swi that describes "generations".
This file in the 4.17.3f.swi firmware says that it's for the 7th generation, my guess is that the generation is the first number of the model # (eg 7050-16)

Hi!

I cannot find such a file. When I decompress the .swi, there are some files (e.g. version), but they do not contain the model/generation.

What I tried next, was to decompress rootfs-i386, but I do not have a clue on where to search.

Can you give me a hint?

Regards

The release notes will tell you which models are supported. Alternatively if your hardware is old enough just look for the EOL notice with the last supported version.

Specifically though, the 7050SX looks like its supported through the latest EOS-4.19.1F

Unfortunately, the .swi-files do not contain release notes - at least I did not find a hint, where.
Do you think, that every firmware "before" EOA-4.19.1F should support the 7050SX?

Given that there has been no EOL notice for the 7050SX you're fine with pretty much any version.

Hi to all,
Thanks for all this information about Arista's Switches.

I just bought a DCS7050-T-64 for my home lab.
I would like to know what the last firmware version for this switch is?
As this switch is no more supported by Arista, where can I find this firmware?

Thanks a lot ;)
